Getting started with EsignCenter

Create your account, send your first document for signature, and find your way around the dashboard.

Updated 2 minutes to read

EsignCenter takes a PDF or Word file, collects signatures on it, and hands everybody back a sealed copy with a record of what happened. This page walks you from a brand-new account to your first signed document.

Create your account

  1. Choose Create free account and enter your name, your email address and a password — or use Continue with Google, which skips the password.
  2. If you signed up with a password, open the confirmation email we send you. You cannot sign in until you do, and the link only takes a moment.
  3. Sign in. You land on your dashboard, on the free plan, with no card on file.

The free plan is free permanently. It gives you 5 completed documents a month, 15 sends a month, 10 documents out for signature at once, 1 user and storage for your signed agreements. Free plan limits explains exactly how each of those is counted.

Send your first document

  1. Start from a document. Drop a PDF or a Word file onto your dashboard, or open one of the starter templates that come with a new account.
  2. Place the fields. Drag a signature box, a date and any text boxes onto the page, and say which signer fills in each one.
  3. Add the people. Type a name and an email address for each signer. If one person has to go before another, switch on the signing order.
  4. Send. Each signer gets their own private link by email.

When the last person finishes, everyone receives the completed PDF. It is digitally sealed and carries a trusted timestamp, and an audit trail PDF travels with it listing when the document was sent, opened, agreed to and signed, and from which network address.

Find your way around

  • Templates — the documents you reuse, with their fields already placed. See Templates and fields.
  • Documents — everything you have sent, and how far each one has got.
  • Settings → Usage — live meters for this month, and the date the monthly counts reset.
  • Settings → Billing — start a trial, change plan or manage your card. See Billing and your free trial.
